Appointments for Prof. Dr. Panke's office hours

The next office hours will take place on Thursday, 29 September, from 14:00h on.
Please make an appointment by contacting the secretary via sekretariat.governance(at)politik.uni-freiburg.de. Please mention your course and/or the topic you would like to discuss. After handing in your outline or exposé, you will receive a link to join the session.



BA-/MA Thesis supervision: If you are interested in having your thesis supervised by Prof. Dr. Panke, you must first discuss this possibility in person during office hours. You should have also attended at least one of Prof. Panke's Proseminar and/or a Hauptseminar.

If you request an appointment regarding your Bachelor or Master Thesis, please forward a short summary (see handout) to Prof. Panke (diana.panke(at)politik.uni-freiburg.de) at least 3 working days before your appointment.

Information regarding Recommendation Letters:

Please send the following documents at least 15 working days (during the semester break 25) before the deadline to sekretariat.governance(at)politik.uni-freiburg.de:

  • Short Motivation Letter (where are you applying and why)
  • CV/Résumé
  • List of degrees (incl. grades) and grades of lectures  you participated in
  • Address of the recipient and deadline


Letters of recommendation can only be issued if at least one of Mrs Panke's courses has been attended in the past. Otherwise Mrs. Panke is not able to give an assessment of the academic qualification!
Please send your inquiries by mail to the secretary's office in due time and NOT to Prof. Panke!

Information regarding PhD requests:

Those who are interested in the supervision of a PhD through Prof. Dr. Panke should send her an email, including the following:

  • Research Question
  • Motivation letter
  • CV/Résumé
  • Copies of degree certificates including grades (grades of the BA and MA degree have to be outstanding)
  • 2-3 page thesis exposé regarding your research interests (in English)
  • transcript of records (grades, ECTS)
